Nice day at the beach

Hunted a little yesterday, but the wet sand was real slow, too many bodies on the dry sand to hunt.
A guy who was curious about detecting, was wearing a nice chain with a 1oz., "pure gold" nugget. He worked at one time for a precious metals refinery. At the end of the enclosed video, you'll see it, hope he goes swimming at lot in Belmar.

Houndawgg,

That is a great video! I have hunted Belmar and surrounding areas in the past (I have not been out this year). Maybe one day I will run into you. One day someone asked me if I was houndawgg (I said no of course). I tend to go into the wet sand at low tide, then and go out as far as possible. The dry sand gets hit pretty hard, I have seen up to 5 detectorists in one area after a busy day, but the finds are still there.

Again, great video.

I use to have the wet sand all to myself, but every year more night and wet hunters are showing. The fresh drops get scooped up quickly, so a hunter needs to know his machine and it better be salt water friendly.
Maybe out paths will cross, I'm easy to pick out, as I carry my scoop balanced on my shoulder, whether in the water or the wet sand.

Hopefully in my upcoming video's, I'll be able to record them.

but I honestly still see far too much trash lying beside unfilled holes in the sand. It's a real shame because that's been far and away the #1 reason why I've been denied hunting in some locations when I ask permission.
