Nice coin spill

There's a church field across from some old houses where I've pulled multiple silver from in the last few weeks. Drove by there today and noticed the chain link fence surrounding the property had been removed. Spent about an hour hunting where the fence used to be. Right next to a huge tree (there was about 1 1/2 feet between the fence and tree before) found this nice coin spill. Was 25 degrees and super windy today but looks like it paid off. Wife still thinks I'm crazy

FANTASTIC AND GOOD FOR YOU

GREAT FINDS

If I could have detected today I would have been out there too

It was Snowing and 18 degrees today but if the ground was not frozen I would have dug :detecting:

Regards and HH

Now that's a pretty awesome coin spill. No worries...my wife thinks I'm crazy too, the shame of it is my detecting in winter kind of doesn't give me a leg to stand on in denying it...lol

Nice finds there RCDetector, I can relate, on the way home from work yesterday it was starting to snow and the wind was blowing hard
but i couldn't help my self i had found two silver rings and merc there the day before!! oh and my wife thinks im nuts also!

@ banditicey Thanks =)

@ Barberdan
Very true. I also have an AT-Pro and go when it's pouring rain sometimes so just more ammo for her. The funny part is I told her it's way too cold today definately not going out. Then we were on our way back from Sam's Club and I noticed the fence gone....:detecting:

@ Goes4ever
Definately! The most productive hour I've had in a long time.

@ David
Nothing wrong with braving the elements. IMO the crazy people are the ones who sit in front of a TV all day and idolize others who are enjoying life and being successful...

That's a nice coin spill and a sharp eye noticing and detecting such a promising spot. :detecting:

I had a similar experience last year when a local park removed some old playground equipment. After the big pieces of metal were gone it was like going back in time and hunting in the 1960's! It was hard to believe all the silver had been there the entire time, just completely masked by the metal swing sets.

Very nice.......Keep looking.
I would think there should be more to find...HH

Ya I plan on going back and hitting it hard when the weather clears up. Have pulled 8 silvers out of this field so far just messing around. You'd be surprised how much silver I find in empty grass lots (vaccant or public) across the street from old houses... If there are old houses on one side of the street chances are there were houses on the other side a long time ago =) All the coins were 6"+ deep so having an etrac certainly helps.

Sounds like a blast. How cool would it be if we could actually travel back in time...

Wow! Did it ever pay off! Did you cover all of the area yet?

Not all of it, probably just 1/3 or so. My dad just got an e-trac and it would be the perfect place for him to practice. Reletively clean ground and deep coins so I'll wait for him to come up to really hit it hard.

His second time out with the etrac he found a spill with and 1895O Barber Quarter and 2 barber dimes. I was like Holy Crap LOL. Beginners luck I guess. Like most old geezers he was brand biased so it really took some convincing to get him to switch from his Garrett to the e-trac. But after I pulled 30+ silvers so far this year to his 3-4 that was all the convincing he needed.

Great hunt - congrats ! :beers:
