Nice Coin Spill

I had about an hour to detect today before supper so I got permission from a nice ladie to search her yard.
I found several memoriel pennies about 4.5 in deep,3 newer quarters,clad dime.It was an older home and I thought man
I,ve not even found a wheatie! Well it was time for me to go and I headed for the car,I thought I,ll go along the edge of the
side walk, I got a nice clean 84-85 about 6". I thought just maybe a silver quarter. I dug a plug out about 5" and pulled a little
more dirt out,checked with my Garrett pin pointer,it was in the dirt, I located it and I thought what!!! an injun ,that dont make
since,rechecked the hole and still had something in it , dug on down,out poped a wheatie,re ck,d the hole still had something
there,another wheatie,and then another wheatie. I never cleaned them till late tonight and got a big surprise
All total ; 1 1891 injun, 1910,1920, and best of all!! 1922 D wheaties. Thanks for lookin,,, HH

That 22-D was a nice topper.....and niiiiice! Why is it so many of these kinds of finds are as we are walking to our rigs? (Divine intervention from the detecting gods I say!) Yup...big congrats on some great copper!

Pretty wild that the Indian was still being carried years later. It is also great that those coins look that good after so many years. I am afraid we aren't leaving our future generations much to look for in the ground. Today's coins look horrible in just a few years. Congrats on a nice dig.

The edge of the sidewalk is always a hot spot in older homes. Few people had cars, so the sidewalk was the main road.

Really nice little coin spill, I love the variety that sometimes pops up in this type of spill. And it does demonstrate that you just never know what you'll find and where you'll find it. I've had some of my best finds happen as i was dragging the coil in a straight line back to the car.

Old sidewalks are very, very good, and the first thing I search on an old property. Congratulations on the pocket spill.

My first gold coin was from a sidewalk edge. (A lawnmower "loved" Mexican 2 1/2 Peso.)

Note: Those sidewalks are a very important indicator as to how much "ground build" there is from original grade level. (Grass clippings, an "over-sod", dusty environment, and especially use of manure for fertilizing, are all are reasons for high build here.....go slow with settings that let you see marginal signals.)
