Nice Barber Dime...

Me and a new detecting buddy hit a woods that use to be a fair grounds and horse racing track. We had to hunt the front area since there was 3-6 inches of snow still left on most of the site. This place has been pounded so I was surprised when the broken but somewhat good signal turned out to be this dime down about 6". Made my day! I found the only coin of the day but we both had fun. First hunt of 2008.

Hi Jeff,
I am in Southwestern Lower Michigan. The ground in the woods around here usually is diggable all year. I think it's because of very loose, leafy ground. It was frozen in spots but for the most part, in the woods was fine for digging. I use a Lesche Little Sampson digger.
Take care and HH - BF
