Hunted an old church for a couple hours this afternoon
Got a few old coins
1901-O Barber dime in nice shape (1" deep) Couldn't believe it.
1903 V nickle
V Nickle (To worn to read the date)
1926 Wheat
One more wheat I lost already
Piece of a medal of somesort that says "Merit"
All coins were around 6" deep, except the barber dime
Was using my CZ7,
The worn V nickle hit foil from all directions, never bounced once, I was in an old spot and it was deep so I dug r up

Tico, You found some nice old coins....love the Barber dime...very nice!
On the nickel worn too much to read the date there is a product available called Nic-a date that will restore the date on a lot of old nickels.
Most coin stores carry it or it call be ordered online for about 5 bucks for a small bottle. I have used it on several nickels without dates and have
gotten a date on majority of them. Congrats on the nice finds..........HH.....

Indeed nice productive hunt..Your unit is properly calibrated as older nickles or even extremely deep Jefferson read low on any unit and this case hit lower in the foil category. As far as depth one never knows even with extremely old coins...
