Hello fellow hunters. haven't been on the forum in a while or even had much time to hunt but me and my GF are going to Niagara falls on the 5th of june and Id like to hit a park or two while Im there.
what I'm wandering is that about a year ago I heard that NY was banning all detecting in the parks ( say it ain't so )... any suggestions on things to look out for and decent places to hunt would be greatly appreciated.
thanks Bob

ON THE CANADIAN SIDE YOU CANNOT DETECT THE PARKS ALONG THE RIVER FROM NIAGARA ON THE LAKE TO NIAGARA FALLS AND ALL THE WAY TO FORT ERIE

ya i know we have some restrictions on state parks during certain times of the year and u need a permit which i have thats all i know most public parks are free for all which i been hitting up now im going to take a gamble and knock on some doors

sad to say no detecting parks along the river from the falls to fort Niagara. I live 10 minutes from the falls and there are quite a few parks within a 30 minute drive. all state parks are a NO dig, except 3 in WNY that you can only dig on the beach with a permit from sept 4th to dec 31st... march 1st to May 20th. most of the parks around here are the typical pounded for 25 year hunted out parks that still give up the occasional silver. have a great vacation, the American side of the falls is sketchy in certain areas, careful knocking on doors.

There are many Parks in WNY that are historical but not designated "Historical"

Gunwolf is right we have many MD's in our area but we can still find Keepers

You can PM me before your trip and we can make an effort and go detecting:thumbup:

Do Not lose your enthusiasm it is a Great Place to visit and Hunt:twodetecting:
