Went on vacation to go kayaking about 4 hrs north of my home. I decided to go snorkeling for a couple hours in a lake that's possibly someone Else's spot, at least that's what this lady thought. She thought she owned the lake and told me that I didn't have any business snorkeling in front of her property. I ignored her and finished up the area, then moved on, only found a few coins there, some were wheat pennies. Found a NHL Red Wing Charm (2.08g 14K) at a public beach and five small silver letter blocks from a broken bracelet (3.38g) at least they appear to be silver, I filed into one. Both items were small, but still OK for a couple hours of playing. Just wish I could have gotten out more but the weather was bad.

Nice finds in that little gold emblem.
Some people have strange ideas on property rights.

That's a good hunt,NHL piece is nice, was the small silver scattered..fall through the scoop at all? ...I have to ask about snorkeling...are you swimming or walking on the bottom?do you were a weight belt..is fresh water that easy to work that deep..even manipulating the scoop?i recall in another post that the person was told by the life guard .."no snorkels"..whats that about...is it safety...he wants to see you breath? There are alot of lakes here in Fla....but i only see them diving for golf balls here,,,we got gators, moccasins, and now down south saltwater crocs and giant pythons...I'm staying in the salt with the sharks...Thanks GL

I do not use a scoop, I fan the sand away with my hand until I see the object,. Had to do each blocks separately because they were scattered. I only use weights when I scuba dive. I snorkel in shallow water. If I know it is a shallow area, I don't put my tank and weight on, I just float with my suit and swim on top, I don't walk the bottom. I never had that problem with a life guard telling me I cant snorkel. As far as how easy fresh water is to work depends on what type of bottom you have, I prefer sandy bottom with clay that isn't to deep under the sand, mucky bottoms are nasty to work in. I also don't mind some sea weed. Watch out for the sharks, here we just have to watch out for people that think they own everything including the water. Bob Oz happy hunting and thanks for the reply.

LOL, yes Kevin snorkels and I have all my dive gear on. He probably thinks I am insane in 3' of water! We all have our ways to do things but only my way is right!!!

Nice finds there Kevin. At least you found some gold again.
