Hello there.
Anybody seriously interested in the Nexus detectors please send your questions to;

chaushev2004@yahoo.co.uk

I will not attend this forums any further, because there is too many people interested in intrigues and speculations.
If I offended anyone I am sorry. I did`t mean to.

Nexus Metal Detectors[/quote]

Hi to David and everyone on the Relic forum

The Nexus is very different to todays digital machines, but in detecting terms has digital processing given us any "depth" advantage over older machines?. I would say no from my experiences,also the older machines had better Iron rejection than most of todays units.

The Nexus is based on an older design which can be good or bad depending on how you look at things, the secret is in the coils which are specialy resonance tuned, which makes this machine very sensitive indeed, if set up wrong it can be more sensitive to the ground rather than targets,on bad ground the Nexus will not perform well. It works best on undisturbed soil like pasture and woodland.

The Nexus is pure depth and thats basically its crown, many fields dont contain deep finds, however on the day when it's there the Nexus can pull up some very nice artefacts where other top of the range machines quite often fail to give a signal. This deep target we are all looking for may only be one every 100 signals...who knows, all I can say is it has impressed me on several occasions.

The Nexus is very sensitive to silver I really hope it works well for you guys.

The Nexus will never be a big seller simply because it is a specialist machine made to order, also the designer is 100% commited to putting company profits back into development rather than magazine advertising, over here in the UK it's the advertising that sells machines.

Sorry that post was a little long

Your post is fine. No problem posting a long thread, and as threads go, yours isn't that long. For those of you that are wondering "Who is Gary/UK?" Gary is a friend of mine and I have come to value his opinion and advice. He's in the metal detecting business and has metal detected for a long time. He's had the chance to use metal detectors that most of us have never heard of, let alone used. Some of the finds he's made would blow your mind. Talk about old coins..he's found coins that predate any we'll ever find here. Although relics in the UK are not Civil War relics per se, he has found many that are British military, along with Roman and I believe Celtic? I agree with Gary when he states the Nexus isn't for everyone. Although simple to set up and use over here, most folks aren't willing to dig targets that are deeper than 10-12 inches, and I can relate to that. When we used to have days that would yield 50-75 bullets at 8-10 inches, I'd be worn out by dusk. And on those rare days I'd get into a bunch of bullets that were deeper than 15 inches, I ached for days afterward. The Nexus is better suited for those who need depth for artillery shells, trash pits/winter huts, coin cache's or very dedicated relic and coin hunting. It's operation reminds me of using the vintage Garrett ADS 2. Not a lot of bells and whistles, but raw performance and what was excellent depth at the time. Anyone who had the patience to learn the ADS would do well with a Nexus in my opinion. As with any new detector, you'll need patience and practice to excel with it. Good hunting, David@Dixie
