OK I got out to two more spots that were hit hard:
A public square:
There were a lot of strong signals there and the old timers drained it of most the good targets. I dug about 20 holes, 12 good targets including 4 wheats, normal tone 5" 12-35 1901 indian and a screamer 4" 12-14 1911 V. Got iron fooled once with an odd shaped bolt giving a good reading tone wise, I didnt take notice of the screen.
An NG armory from the 1930's:
Hit really hard as there were no signals. My first target was a squeaky 12-38 barely noticeable. It was a 9" 1920 wheat. next was a screamer at 12-40. It was a 6" 1940 wheat. And I also found an 8" cool Nat guard uniform button 12-39. I got fooled by iron again. I gotta start keep my eyes on the screen every once in a while and not just go by tone!!
observations this time around:
Machine with stock set-up, falseing comes in around 12-40 sensitivity at 28.
Most wheats are hitting 12-38,12-40 in the ground.
found some screamer 5" nickels on the Etrac, they seem much quieter at 5"
no silver yet much too learn, the sites I am hitting have been hit really hard, then me and pops hit them, with the Etracs and cleaned them out for good it seems.
