Hey everyone, do you know what this rightfully deserved award means?
It means that the threat is real for the other manufactures of metal detectors and Nokta and Makro are starting to push up the bar. As a result the other guys are getting geard up to catch up. I think this is good for the consumers as competition leads to innovation and better thought out machines.
Nokta and Makro have proven with their recent introduction into the hobbyist detector zone, that they are not part of some manufactures secret group where they mutually concede that none of them should try to jump ahead to far in detector technology in order to prevent a market disruption that could hurt all of them.
Anyway, for those of who have been detecting for a while I assume " some of us" can see the writing on the wall.
I have recently seen one manufacture eating bananas with hidden coins inside to demonstrate a machines performance.
I am still trying to watch horror movies to quell the vision of that banana being ate as an ad for detector performance.
Oh wait!, I know why the banana was ate during the video. It was an attempt of interacting with customers on a humorous level?
Consistently across all forums I hear of Makro and Nokta having amazing machines with amazing build quality. A coil issue was address by customers on the forum weeks after the launch of the Racer. Makro fixed it right away and took care of everyone who had the launch coil. The impressive track record of customer support along with a valued customer dialog became aware to the hobbyist when the Fors-Core and Racer where released. I love following metal detector manufacture politics and analyzing the effectiveness of a detector launch.
I do not own a Makro or Nokta machine yet.
Now before the trolls who happen to be sipping hot chocolate at the moment they read that I do not own one of said detectors, please take a break and clean up the chocolate you spat accidentally on your monitor.
I will wait when you calm down. Be sure to run your hand under cool water if the hot chocolate burnt you.
continuing.
I am confident that from my research and detecting experience, I can make a reasonably accurate assumption if a machine is powerful and user friendly, as well as having a great build quality and an ergonomically comfortable design in a lite and durable package. It is nice when a touch of features has been added to detector hardware that you never knew you would use and enjoy. Such as a control box LED light that is aimed at the coil, a vibrating handle to assist the hard of hearing.
The award they received was well deserved.
Especially for customer support and innovation.
In saying all this I hope the friendly Nokta folks consider one thing.
I am not the only expected tax refund guy who is salvitating over the prospect of a newly revealed machine.
I so bad want it to be the IMPACT .
I am glad I held off to see what other machines are right around the corner.
Remember competition from manufactures is a win win for the customer with new products with usable features that are new and usable.
All of this is just my opinion. I mean no offense to fans of the other detector manufactures.
The machine you use that makes you happy and makes finds is the best machine you can use.
