News artical.Gold-sucking technique dredges up California controversy

I hate to be negative but I think dredging's days are numbered. Facts mean nothing. Dredging in reality has little or no environmental impact. It is one of the most environmentally innocuous forms of mining. What impacts exist are of short duration and self reclaiming. But we are losing the public relations game and the truth is we are the tiniest of tiny minorities. If dredging ends, nobody but a few of us care. California is just the start of it you can see the screws tightening elsewhere. Alaska will probably last the longest but I am shocked at how fast things are closing in even here.

Bottom line is have fun and do what you can where you can for as long as you can. Just don't tell the kids to invest their future in suction dredging.

A FEW...................... 10s a thousands lost their homes, campgrounds, restautants, mining stores, outfitters, and means of living and surviving supporting kids, mom, dads and grandparents. sic sic sic illegal mess-John

It is too bad that the industry that supplys gold to bussinesses in the states that have restricted the mining industry cann not be charged a surcharge for purchasing new gold.
In other words only recycled gold can be used in california and if they wish to by new gold they get charged 10-15 percent over spot because that gold has to come from some place else.
Sure it would meany higher prices to items but hell I dont buy gold.
Sure wouldnt cost me anything but the extra cost should be used to help those whom lost their jobs to it.

I hate to disagree, but the truth be told Jim your technique of using a surcharge to California buyers of gold is something only a liberal would love. Marv

I am not talking about what YOU pay i'm talking about what buisness in Ca would have to pay...
If ya want something done you have to find a way to put pressure on those that need the material....
In other words. You want to manufacture gold or work with gold run your businedd outside ca....pretty soon NO businessins in Ca....
No bussiness in ca NO taxes collected...
What would happen if the aircraft comanied moved completly out of the state....
And I do not think my idea is liberal at alll..... Maybe radical....

I think its all BS.. Its just a big ole mess that the leaders of California think will help the enviornment, but what they do if you will is wreck everything that people work for. Meaning, this might be sceptical but they blocked off all the adventure and stuff normal people that help this system run got screwed. Living in California i can see what the BS is all about, and its really stupid. I read the article, and think that its BS. Salmon fishing has been closed here for last few years, and we did have a short season this year, but what did dredges do to them? I say nothing, over fished yea, and even the dreges holes that are sucked up get filled back in a year when it floods anyway. Its just another way for them governament officals to ream the fun out of life, more and more. I mean shoot we can't even play online poker for real money any more. Whats next? Bull crud bull crud bull crud.
