Hit the local fairgrounds today since I'm off for Columbus Day, turned up the ring in the first 2 minutes (marked .925 Thailand and weighs 6.8 grams). Got the silver elephant earring 5 minutes later (2.3 grams). The rest of the 3-hour hunt produced 70 coins (all clad and pennies) and the usual trash. I had to use high discrimination on the Ace 250 and was basically just coin-shooting, there's a lot of junk on the ground. This is about the usual fare for me as far as the coins, and it's not unusual for something silver to turn up but the ring is unusually large as far as my regular finds go.
I hit my favorite school Saturday and had to push hard to make 100 coins. I try to leave the playground equipment alone until the end of the year but had to hit that for my last 5 coins.
I really love the Ace 250. For $212 it's a smokin' machine, I can always count on it to produce for me. Whenever I feel like I've wasted time and gas trying to make better finds with a "better" machine (as was the case Friday using my White's Beach Hunter ID at a Boy Scout pond) I can grab the Ace, hit the power button and start digging coins out of the ground. The Ace is just almost too easy and fun to use, easy to carry around and it's easy to feed batteries to. I guess that's why I bought a second one as a backup a few months ago. If I ever hear that Garrett is going to stop production of this machine I'll almost surely buy a third.
Alright, the commercial is over. We now return you to our regular programming.
