Bounty Hunter 505 Pioneer. Mounted the control box under the S-rod. Seems to balance better. Note the innards are flipped also. Don't do this unless you intend to void your warranty I think. Look where the coil now plugs in. I'm just having fun here and I don't claim anything. Thanks for looking. If you've got anything to say, positive or negative, I'd like to see it posted:) Happy Hunting. Matt

With this detector I hunt primarily by using the tones. Yes, the view is obscured, but it's not that different than say looking at the faceplate of my Sov GT while hunting. HH. Matt

As long as it works for you and makes easier for you to swing the detector etc........that's all that matters.
Now go out and find some goodies.

I think your idea is really good , since u hunt by tones. I just picked up my land star and held it my hand and it wants to roll over with the control box in the position u have it . I hunt mainly by tones also , Im new here dont know much, and now I think I will void my warranty IT really seems balanced the way u positioned it.......................

:usmc:

Have for some time thought of moving the control box down under as you did. Seems every time I put my BH 505 on the seat of my pickup, it's always wanting to role over for being top heavy. My arm strength however is not effected by it's position when detecting and feel the control box could actually use some tilting back at more of an angle to view the face. Is there a reason you moved the coil plug? I guess I'm puzzled as I've not had any issues with it.

With the touch pad where it is now, can you still while grasping the handle, with the same hand, finger press the touch pad without the aid of the other hand?

I moved the coil plug because it would not reach its original hole when I flipped the guts upside down in the housing. I guess I also could have lengthened the wires to the coil plug a couple inches to make it work. Yes, I can reach the touch buttons with one hand. It's a little tricky getting used to it. I use my thumb also. Thanks and HH. Matt
