Hi Steve,
Congratulation on your purchase, with Infinium expect some learning curve, some say 40 hours some say more.
It will take some time to get use to.
Where you located may be we could go out detecting together one day ?
I am in Nooasville QLD
Michael

Welcome from an another Ozzie, I'm in Victoria. I also own the BH T4, and the Infinium. The T4 is a top little beach and park unit, I've gotten between $20,000 and $30,000 in about 3yrs with it in coins and jewellery, detecting nearly every day. I've also found a shallow 1.05 gram nugget with it! The Infinium is overrated a bit but still a reasonable nugget hunter for the price (my opinion only). I have found a couple of patches and single nuggets in SE Queensland in flogged ground. It's also great on the beaches, mainly the wet sand, and in the water. I've dug 50c pieces at 18" and 19" at the Gold Coast in QLD. I've done a bit diving with it and it's brilliant to dive with, it paid for itself in the first 12 months. Your swing speed will need to be about 1ft per second or less to get the best from it. If you can get a mono coil go for it as they are much more sensitive than the 14x10DD. I wish you every sucess with both of them. I'm selling my LS as I need bigger coils and a bit quicker swing speed now I'm in Vic to cover as much ground as possible. Also the LS is best set up in the under the cuff position as it balances much better with less fatigue. Definately watch the video more than once, happy hunting cheers Nugget.

i am really interested in the infinium,i have watched the training video and looks good..i want to use it for beach, water and relic hunting...but i get a lot of conflicting stories on this unit...that is garbage to it's excellent for doing everything...still up in the air about it... i like it for it's simplicity..not to many bells and whistles...

Any detector is only as good as the time you put into learning the unit. I have an infinium and really love it, it took some time to learn the way it works and i have been metal detecting for some thirty years. On the beach it works good, doesn't block out much but usually dig all on the beach anyway. In the wet sand it is a killer, it is nothing to dig coins and rings from 14 to 20 inches deep. First time out dug a mens titanium/silver wedding band at 14".

I haven't been nugget hunting yet but i'm sure there is a learning curve to that type of hunting also.

Hope what ever you decide on that you don't give up to soon and keep learning because it will pay off.

I'm 65 and i'm still learning

Have Fun

I made my decision wks ago..I am buying it..just waiting now for the payment to go thru and then shipped to me,bought it from Kellyco...i took advantage on there Bogo sale, got the package and then got my son the cobra beach, also bought the 8" coil and bag...i figure while i have the money and the sale was on...so now i am like a kid waiting for my toy to be delivered...lol..
