Found this at 2" down at a house I had previously done. I cherry picked all of the good signals last summer and went back to it and dug all the "ify" signals. Bad news is, I hit the back with my shovel.

That's an awesome find. Welcome to the club!!!!! A dream coin for all serious detectors for sure!!!! Thanks for the pictures.

Screen reading please and please don't say 01-47/48. If I ever get one of those I will be digging a big round hole to minimize the chance for damage. Great find.

Congrats on one heck of KILLER find ! :beers:

It's up to you if you want to try this or not ...
I've taken a few of my badly scratched silver coins and rubbed them gently with extra fine steel wool - this worked out very well - you can hardly see the scratches on the coins at all now.
The steel wool seems to do a good job of "feathering in " the scratches.
As always - you want to make sure you not further damaging a key date coin.

Amazing find! Looking forward to one myself someday!

Congrats on a great find !! Scratch or no scratch it is an awesome find. hope to find one of those one day.

Congratulations on finding the big stuff. There's just not that many out there. My son did the same thing a few years back hunting a parking strip. It was also a Morgan, and was 2" down and he also scratched it, but he's still got it and has never found another one since. Rick IL.
