Hi Everyone,
Im usually a land hunter but I travel a lot where I can water hunt. I use a Garrett GTI 2500 and other garretts, but it suffers sometimes because of salt mineralization. I was water hunting with a stranger last week in the carribean, he was using the Sea Hunter Mark ll as we chatted. Finding Ring after ring was making my hair stand up. I figured i was missing out on some great adventures in the water. My question is and I must ask, could I get some feed back in regards to this detector pros and cons and also some personal feedback. I want ease of operation, Im use to Automatic but I know theres some extra work involved with knobs on those water machines.
Thanks,
Jason.

Well motherlode, check the recent post from the other Sea Hunter Mark II inquirey. You are trying to use a VLF(very low frequency) in a situation, it was not really designed to perform well at. The Mark II is a pulse induction unit and is not affected be the high mineralization levels in a salt environment. Actually there are very few detectors that I have ever seen that do. Excal/SOV, CZ20 and White's BH ID, would be the only exceptions. VLFs will false and make all kinds of racket and in my opinion are a poor choice for this application. Hope this helps, but does not hurt your feelings.
