Getting a little anxious. I received my first metal detector a Whites VX3 for Christmas. Not able to get out because of the frozen ground and have been swinging in the basement. A couple good targets about 8" deep. Thinking of going to homed pot renting a jack hammer and see what I find. Winter blues.

Howdy BillV--

Congratulations on getting your first detector - the Vx3 and welcome to this forum! When you have questions about your new detector or detecting in general with your V, this is the place to ask. In the meantime, while suffering from the winter blues, this is an excellent time to do your research and create a list of potential hunting sites. Visits to your library, historical society and chatting with "old timers" can be time well spent in preparation for spring hunts! Best of luck and...

Happy Hunting!

Thanks for the advice. Been using historic aerial and maps around my local area. Also know quite a few places to hunt that are customers of mine, that may be excellent hunting grounds. Old schools and french Indian war sites.

Hang in there. Spring will be here soon. Keep reading up & you will be ready to get out with that new detector...
