I'm brand new at this...so new that my Garrett Ace 350 hasn't even gotten here yet! While reading I have noticed that there are several mentions of a "Pinpoint" coil available for the 350...the one I ordered has the 81/2 X 11 DD coil will this coil be sufficient to get me started in this new hobby or should I go ahead and order the pinpoint coil as well?

Yes you can pinpoint okay. Smaller coils which are good for working in areas of lots of trash are just a little easier to pinpoint with.

From what I have seen the DD coil is good for trashy areas because of a narrower detection area. so it will be good in trashy areas. But I highly recommend you get a Garrett pro pointer, It will make finding your targets a lot easier.

Thanks for taking the time to help a newbie...I do appreciate it.

The pro pointer is going to be my next investment. LOL The "Diggers" program on Nat Geo has shown me the value of the Pro pointer. LOL
