Can someone suggest me some operating setting for all different types of soils and conditions. would be very great full. You guys are great...
Thanks in advance, Brian

I've got an f5 myself , great machine by the way. The best settings that I use are sensitivity at 70 (if your around a bunch of power lines you may have to lower that # just enough to get the chatter down) other wise this will give you maximum depth with clear sounds. Next set your threshold at -1(this works good in all conditions. Then the next setting is the ' tone' setting , I like the four tone setting myself , this setting helps separate the different targets while your passing over them. The machine has two ways of doing ground balance , the easiest is automatic ground balance . If you have any problems just let know.

I run mine at different setting depending on ground conditions. The best thing I did was spend about half an hour or so air testing. Waving the various objects over the coil at around the same height and also 1 particular object ( I used an Australian coin token) at various setttings and took note of the difference in the height for each setting. The results are NOT what will happen out in the real world but will give you a better idea of what you are doing to the F5 when you change the settings.
