Does the preloaded coin mode work on all US silver coins and do I need to tweak anything to get the most depth? I am going out this afternoon for my first hunt with it. So if you have a few tips to help me out let me know thanks!!

The coins mode is very very good! The top right descrim will miss a very few big silvers. Not much to worry about.

I would use auto + 2 or 3 till you get the hang of it. Even at low sensitivity it's still awesomely deep!

Stock coin program works great. Start with that until you get the feel for the e-trac. Look up Andy sabish's coin program or goes4ever's settngs and you can;t go wrong. You will love this machine when you learn it, and it does not take long to become very effective wth it. Good luck!

I am going to read the manual a couple times it seems a little confusing! I will eventually need help on downloading programs off the Internet and then uploading them to my Etrac. Thanks you guys for the help!!

The stock coin program in auto plus 3 will do until you get the feel of the mighty etrac. After you sweep for a while try and go manual at say 24 level and listen at the difference. Something else too is I would switch the pinpoint mode to sizing. I think normal pinpoint mode is harder for an etrac beginner. If memory serves me right Normal pinpoint is the default setting. You can always switvh between the two and see what you like better pinpointing a coin on top of the ground.

This detector is a whole new experience for me man this thing was hitting 4-5 targets every sweep I believe the area is junky!! I switched to the high trash mode and it quitened down some I ended up hunting about 2 hours and dug 3 dimes and a quarter. Is their any programs out there that are good on trashy sites? Maybe one that is better at disc. out trash and mainly finds the silver and clad? I know this dog will hunt seen to many videos and finds on here to say other wise it's definetly not what I'm use to which is a CZ. Anyone that has some good programs send them to my email at morgan4jr@hotmail.com I am not giving up on this thing and I know it will take some time to learn! I've hunted now about 20 years and every detector I've used I have always learnt it! I love the balance of this detector I have tennis elbow and it feels as though I haven't even swung a detector today. Thanks guys for your help!

You'll notice this, as I was learning, and that is a shallow target (say 2 inches or less) will give you 3 or 4 hits. The consistent single "beep" is your deeper 4 inches or more targets. Consistency in sound is your key to unlock good targets. Especially the hits that sound off one way then the 90

the more you disc out trash, the more GOOD targets you will miss also.....if your area is real trashy you need to slow your swing down a LOT, and if it is super trashy, a small coil will help you a lot

What is a great smaller coil for trashy areas? The area I am hunting is older school grounds being used since late 1800's with a newer school there now. But it has seen it's share of trash over the years. I know there's silver there just seeing through the trash is the problem. I uploaded Andys coin program in my Etrac earlier and won't get to try it till later. I seen another program labeled Bill S trashy park but I can't get it to download to my computer for some reason.

Generally I put in programs manually for me it is no problem to do so. Go to the top of the forum and look at The Beep Goes On site, he has an Excel file that is very good for storing discrimination and mode patterns. You can load it into the program and print out a sheet showing the pattern and quickly enter it manually into a pattern or mode.

The preloaded coin program will work fine for US Coins. Another suggestion that you might try is to use 4 tone conductive instead of multi-tone until you get some time on the E-trac. It will simplify things and be a little closer to what you are accustomed to. If I am coinshooting only, I still use the 4 tone sometimes due to my hearing loss for certain tones. Good luck with the E-trac it is definitely a different animal.
