It is so confusing , all these different models of detectors. Being new at this I was looking at the Fast Track and the Tracker IV. Any body offer some advise. I'm planning on buying one when I get out of the hospital in about a week. ( Having a knee replacement) Need some advice for limited funds.

Welcome to the forum first of all.
I havent been in it too long, but I have the Bounty Hunter Lone Star and the Garrett Ace 250. For the enter grade MD seems most here go for the Garrett . I does have a few more bells and whistles than the Bounty Hunter but all will detect some with more flair. When I first got mine (the BH ) it came as a package I think as a left over Christmas deal it was called "Me and Dad". It had the Lone Star and the Junior MD together . The wife used the Junior but it only has a meter on it and designed for a child use (shorter handle). She wanted more. I then got the Garrett because I could get it local at a good price. When we go out now (the wife using the BH and me the Garrett ) we both seem to hit about the same things only I can do it quicker.
I guess what I am trying to say is go to the different web sites ,i.e. Garrett , Bounty Hunter, etc. there you can compare side beside the different models of each brand and decide from there which is best for your type of hunting. I can say I am well pleased with both of what I have for the money. Each was close to the 150 $ mark

The detectors I would suggest for a new hunter are:

Bounty Hunter Tracker IV
Bounty Hunter Sharp Shooter II
Tesoro Compadre
Garrett ACE 250
White's Prizm V
Minelab X-Terra 70

in that order of preference and ease of use
