Hello all Just received my EXll in the mail today. It was, well an impulse purchase as I have had a DFX about a year. I am certaintly looking fwd to many great finds with this new tool and hope to spend some time here in the weeks to follow trying to glean any info that might help me get started. I spent a couple of hours today at a local school playing with the quick start mode and found a few coins and relics one being an older 4H pin and a 1936 wheatie at about 5 inches. Wanted to ask if some of you might have some tips on setup that might get me started on the right track. For now I have only the stock coil and most of the spots I have available to hunt are moderate to heavy modern trash.

get your self a smaller coil I just got the coiltek joey
5x10 coil great in the trash very sensitive to coins
and smaller items. the stock 10.5 coil can be frustrating in iron trash.

Hey Dave, Good to talk to you. I think that a smaller coil is going to be a must. I use the 10 1/2 on relics and that's fine but for coins, you probably will have to go smaller, especially if there is a lot of trash. Have fun, Richard

Good to have you here and we will help as we can. Look forward to your post.
HH, Cody
