i new to metal detecting. i just started beach hunting this year. i been going to beaches in Delaware every other week for few hours. i been trying to get there in the early morning before the crowed and at low tie. i have try to hunt the surf not in the water but where the waves crash on the beach. i hardly finding any coins on the surf. now when i look on the beach it self i do ok in the coins. i have read the books and i know it luck has alot to do with it but i also know it has skills that you must learn.

here is my questions:
when should i hunt the beach? low tie or high?
where should i hunt the beach? do i need to get into the water and how deep i need to get into the water?
where on the beach beside the surf should i hunt?

i have a Garrett AT Pro. i know it not the best beach hunter but i got it because it a all around MD.
