Hi all : I am a newbie in every sense of the word live in SC very close to Charlotte NC. I have just purchased a Garrett GTAx 550 I should receive it on Monday just looks like much fun. Just wanted to know from all you pro's and enthusiast if there where any suggestions. Like where to go besides parks or how to adjust things ? I won some land in the mountains with some old logging roads and was going to start there just for fun. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

There are several here that hunt wooded areas. I'm new myself and I hunt the woods and barley noticeable old home steads.
If you come across one of these places be careful digging. Today I shattered a bottle worth around a couple hundred. It was a hand blown brown bottle. I unknowingly spiked it with a small pick axe.
