The Lone Stare, like the Pioneer 505, are good machines however they are not using current technology. They have heavy cases and analog controls that make for arduous swinging and inconvenient adjustments. The newer generation of detectors are better IMHO. I have an Elite 2200 which is the same as the Discovery 2200. It is light weight, has automatic ground balancing and all the controls can be accessed by the hand on the arm doing the swinging. There are many other similar machines however for the price, ($120-$150) I don't think the Elite/Discovery 2200 machines can be beaten.
