Hello,

After two weeks of lurking around I felt it was time to register in this forum. First of all I would like to say Hello to all of you and to introduce myself. My name is Tom, I

Hi Tom, I also live in Bavaria between Weiden and Bayreuth, about 2 hrs north of you. The XT70 is a great machine unfortunatley, I can not say much about setting it up, mine is still new to me and I have been detecting in All Metal and ignoring the -6 low tones as it is almost always iron. The small silver coins you will find hit in the low digits. I have a detecting permit for Bavaria, the Archaeologists want you to have one but the law says you only need a permit when detecting near historical sites in Bavaria as far as I understand. They will not give you a permit to detect near historical sites. Good luck with the XT70 and HH, Mike

I just bought one too,so im not the one to tell you how to operate it.The only thing I can tell you is get different coils, and dont give up to quick it takes a while to learn you detector.

I know the machine is good. I know that so far the forum is good. Nice bunch of laid back guys doing their thing and I think that other guy named Bavaria Mike might be Okey too. He seems to post a lot here and I think you both will do very well with your XT70s. There not hard to learn. In fact they are so easy to learn that people think theres more to it.

Welcome to the forum and welcome to metal detecting! Im sure you will do well with the X-terra 70 because you simply cant go wrong with it. You live in a great place to detect because of your countries history so your going to have lots of fun obviously. The only good advice I can give you is to spend quality time with your new detector. You cant damage it by pressing any wrong buttons ect so experiment to your hearts content. There are alot of nice people here on the forums with some helpful advice and its all free of charge :detecting: Nice to meet you, enjoy!
Cheers!

Thank you for your warm welcome - I appreciate your support!

I just learned that my new X-Terra 70 has been shipped yesterday, so it will arrive here within a few days. I
