The Fisher F75 - Coin Strike - ID Edge Classroom forum is where the information(posts) are archived. Look back in the 2-3 year time frame for the posts.

Here's a Excel & X30 comparison/review I did:

I find the Excel to be a dandy detector and have included it on a permanent list of keepers. It's simple, lightweight, and good iron picking detector. If they had made a small coil for it, especially a small DD, then it would have become a De Facto standard for a moderately priced trash hound.

I have heard from various people that the Excell does very well in iron trash with the stock coil.
Why they don't release a small coil for it?
Has anyone tried the small Edge coil on the Excell?

The ID Excel is a great metal detector very straight forward easy to use with good performance.

I am not sure if the ID Excel was not the best detector I ever had. I just jump from one to another too quickly.....Jack

I can only say from my years of owning Fishers and reading this forum each day all of the fishers are great machines and each have their own tributes...but why not get the F70 or F75. There are coils and they are deep and light and fast and great in iron and trash.

I have own Fisher CZ-5, CZ-6A ,Cz-7A Pro, CZ-20 ( water) & just bought a CZ-70 Pro The ID excell is a excellent detector. The fisher company was sold a few years ago. And now sell $300.00 detectors for $700.00 The Id Excell was brought back because it a great coin detector. You will not be dissapointed.
