Newbe-505 Question

New member
I,m new to detecting, and have been looking at the BH 505 as a first detector. any feed back about this model.
Is it a good model to start with. Will be coin, and relic hunting. Also should I get the 4" coil as well as the standard one

Thanks Mark

The 505 is a perfect starter machine, unless your soil is highly mineralized, then you might want to step up to the Land Star...The 505 was my second detector...I started on a 202, and now own a Land Star. It will reliably find coins up to 6-8" deep, and larger objects up to 2 feet deep. I found mine to be very accurate on the ID and depth on targets as well...I think you will be happy with the 505.
