I want to buy a detector for the first time, but i don't know what kind to get.I don't want a cheep one and i don't want to have to purchase another one in a few years..I like nice stuff, good things. So i want something thats going to last. Please give me some choices. Thanks MIKE

You came to the right place, there is lot of knowledge in this forum

the MXT is a machine that will get you to the good stuff, but don't underestimate the M6

good luck and welcome!

I totally agree with Topo. I've had my MXT for almost 8 years and I can still run with the Big Dogs! Right Larry? :twodetecting: I wouldn't have any other machine! HH, Nancy

I own one and it has worked flawlessly for me 3 years and running. I highly recommend the Mxt. The only reason I own another machine is because I wanted to be able to hunt in salt water. Good luck in your decision. You are doing the right thing by reading the forums and seeing.....Who runs what? Who finds what? Where you hunt and what you want to hunt for are also things to consider before buying. I know this is the Mxt forum, but a lot of people do very well with the Garrett Ace 250 and it is a very affordable first machine. I will say this, I own a Whites Mxt and a Minelab Excal. If I had it all to do over again, I would own the same two machines.
