I just found and joined this group. I'm glad to find others with a Bounty Hunter. My husband bought me the Quick Silver for my birthday, anyone else swinging one? I have been using it around the yard, we have 18 acres, and have found bullets, bullet casing, nails, screws, bolts, wire, tin foil, flip tops and some change. Anyone know if you can buy headphones for the Quick Silver?

Look forward to meeting all of you.

Hello sadiemae and welcome to the hobby (obsession)...

From what I see in the Manual, there is no headphone jack on the Quick Silver...This is unfortunate, as the unit looks to be a very capable treasure hound...The only way to get a heaphone jack on that unit would be to have someone who is good with Electronics Modify the machine....It CAN be done, but is not something you should do unless you know it will be done right...

Welcome to a great hobby(sickness). It is one that can pay its own way. Glad to see more people getting into it. May the finds get great and plentiful for you.

Well, I have never owned one of the Quick Silvers, and The manual did not show the plug as far as I could see, but as long as there is a plug, all you need is a GOOD pair of headphones...any 8-50 ohm headphones should work, but you want the best you can afford...There are specialty headphones made for metal detecting, then there are the better audio headphones, like BOSE, and KOSS...I like the Phillips too...I currently use an old pair of Audio 200s (cheap), but they work for me for now...I will eventually get better headphones...Try to find a pair that have separate volume controls for each ear cup...If you cannot get a pair with 1/4" stereo plug, you can buy an adapter from any place that sells audio equipment (Wal-Mart, Radio Shack, Target, Costco, etc.). This will convert the 1/4" to 1/8" plug.
Do NOT be surprised if the volume is not all what you would expect...My White's Classic has VERY low audio, so the headphones are a MUST.

Happy Hunting,
