New Year's Eve Bonanza!

I wasn't really expecting today's lake hunt to be that good although I was optimistic as always. I wound up with 6 rings! You just never know...

geat finds ...hope the next year will stay this good for you

You know, I looked at your vid time of nearly 15 minutes and thought, I'll start watching it and put it on pause, go to the bathroom...well, watched it all the way through!
You do a great job with the background soundtrack as well as the commentary on what you are using, the signals, etc. I really appreciate the effort, thanks and happy New Year, Goldie!

Thank you for the feedback Mudpuppy! It's a long video but I'm hopeful that someone will learn something from it. I know I did! HH!

Nice finds in that hunt:thumbup:

Great video. Congrats on all the loot!

I would not have thought of using the type of scoop you used with a clay bottom environment. I have that scoop. I use in the sand tot lots and dry sand at the beach but have bent it in the wet sand. I tend towards heavier scoops in the clay bottom areas. Sure looks like it is working for you!

There is plenty more there. Have fun.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone! I have had this scoop for so long I don't even remember who made it. Other similar scoops have fallen apart on me but this one keeps on going. I "pull" it towards me while using my foot to help with leverage.
I've tried heavier "push" scoops in this environment and they don't work for me in the deeper water- I just float back as I try to push those bigger scoops in. This scoop is also small in diameter compared to my 3 others and I believe that the smaller diameter helps get through the clay with less resistance, but accurate pinpointing becomes critical. HH!

Compass, that was great! . Man that water had to be chilly, what size mm are the gloves? 4/5 Congrads on all.......joe

Thanks OBN! The gloves are 5mm thick. I was afraid that 7mm would be too bulky. My hands were actually the coldest part of my body yesterday but that only lasted for a couple of hours. HH!

I bet you warmed right up away when you found those gold rings.
Congrats on a great hunt and a very well done video. HH

Great hunt. Show us that floating sifter. What kind of mess are you using? saw a guy using a Garrett classifier with water winnies. Seems like just the right size out there. It also was of plastic so you could run it over the top of your coil.... cant do that with metal. Yours seems to be a floating raw gold one or did you make it?

Thanks all, The sifter is very low tech. It is just a wastepaper basket with a pool "snake" wrapped around the top but it does what I need it to. You are right about the metal interfering sometimes but it really doesn't happen very often. HH!
