New Year's Day finds

A good start for 2013.

Hit a old park with the ctx for 3 hours and dug up 5 silvers! Along with 4 wheaties,1 Indian head and a gold plated heart pendant. 6-8 inches deep. 2 were only 5 inches deep and they were wheaties. Dug 11 holes had oldies in 10 of them. Had a wheatie and mercury dime in the same hole the machine only showed the wheatie. One hole I couldn't find the target but still gave out a signal. So far I put in over 60+ hours on the ctx in a little over a month and had my best day with it.

WTG!!

Those are outstanding!!

Great start to the new year!!

Nice, its been my experience that wheats sound/look like silver dimes.

That is a fantastic hunt and I would check that hole again with the signal, especially if the CTX says it might be a good target. Something larger than a coin and deeper than the meter says could be a very nice keeper.

But I think its deep iron. The machine had 6 inches on the screen I dug down to about 9 inches cut the hole a little bigger checked with probe and nothing. I've dug holes like this before with my explorer xs with 10x12 sef coil ended up being iron or junk. As for numbers I don't pay very much to them I concentrate on the cursor. I'm just used to it.

Thanks you for the nice comments.

I think recent rains helped a lot of us find some silver. I'm here out west in California and we had our share of the wet stuff.

Excellent west coast finds on the first of many great days we should all have in 2013 - great digs Denny:thumbup:i

WTG Denny,

Brings me a smile ear to ear hearing about your success, you took to the CTX right away.

Larry is right, That deeper signal may be a silver half, larger coins read shallower and will fool a user not digging deep enough.

My recent silver half registered 7" inches on the screen, but it was actually down 9-10" inches measured with the Periscope probe. Plus, As big as the coin was it came in as a dime signal. Goes to show larger coins buried deep may I'D lower and read shallower.

Go back and dig down deeper, bet you lunch it's a silver cart wheel.

See you Sunday if all goes well, Congrats!

I hope it doesn't rain like its forecast too. My detectors fine but I'm not. HaHa

Thanks Atlas and Doc1964

Who would have guessed? They rare to find around here. This park has been hit by all the big name detectors but now targets are becoming slim. I just happen to come across a sweet patch of ground.

Congrats WTG
