I have been thinking of getting another back-up detector for some time now. I telephoned a dealer who knows that I like to mostly coin/jewelry hunt. He said he had some close out XT 50s and XT 70s for a great price, and then he quoted me a price on both machines.
Not knowing anything about Minelab, I started reading all that I could find on the XT 50 and XT 70. I eventually got to this fourm and started reading it back wards from page 125 forward. There was a lot of discussion and field testing going on with the 30 and 50. I read every word Pros and cons, Mostly pros. I called my dealer and Purchased the XT 50 at the close out price.
I took it out to a fairly new park (1965) because I knew ther was a lot of clad there so I could practice easier.
The XT 50 was Great. It worked fantastic. I found lots of clad, and I knew what I was digging up before I dug it most of the time. I dug one quarter that was not suppose to be in this park 1958.
Thanks to BarnacleBill, Digger, Monte, Joe of South Jersey, I knew how to properly hunt with a Metal detector before I recieved it. THANKS DanO
