New X50 coming my way!

New member
My 10yo son got a Whites Prizm 2 last week as a gift and couldnt wait to hit the dirt. We did some local parks and found a bunch of clad at about 2-3 inches. I figured it would be a good idea to get a unit of my own (a little more depth I hope) and join the fun. After doing some reasearch it looked like Minelab was the way to go, but which one? I looked at the EX XS (used) and new EX2's, but thought it best to start out with less of a learning curve and save some money to boot. Can you folks point me in the right direction for getting started with the new machine? Any help, advice or pointers welcome. Thanks!

Not to be smart but just be old school and read the manual and you'll be fine. You made a very nice choice of detector. Actually, if you want to get a head start on it. You can go to Mine Labs web site and down load the manual for it from there. That way you're up on it before you recieve it. What I like to do anyway. Good luck on your new detector and enjoy. HH

Good luck, the Xterra 50 is a nice detector,I have one.Read the manual many times, watch the video(I still need to)and read all the previous tips and then practice in your own yard to get an idea on how various targets respond.Looking forward to your posts:))
