New with a few of Questions

Hello,

I'm new to the forums and very new to metal detecting. My family of four are going to start metal detecting. My plan right now is to get two Garrett AT Pros and two Garrett ACE 240/250 for my kids (ages 6 and 9). I'm getting the gear from Garrett along with the two water proof pointers. I have watched a lot of videos over the past three years and now ready to get into it. Below is a few questions i have.

I really like the Garrett brand from what i have seen and heard. When i look to buy a used one they seem to be hard to find. I'm taking this as a good thing but want to make sure Garrett is they way to go.

Garrett pricing seems to be fixed across the board. Even on EBAY they run that same. Who would be the best person/company to purchase my Garrett items through?

Besides the normal items (metal detector, pointer, bag, shovel, ect) What else do I need? Is there something out there that has makes life a littler easier.

In the videos when they find an old coin or something that looks like straight up junk they seem to know what it is right then. Is there a good book or wed site that help narrow down what it is. I know i can always post it on here for help but I'm sure everyone doesn't want me posting a lot of garbage on here.

Any advise for someone new to this. I understand to always leave the ground in better shape than i found it. I work in the environmental field and understand we need to leave as little of a mark that we can while trying to make the land healthier.

From the videos i have watched it looks like some people are digging up trash and leaving it on top of the ground. Please help the environment and take the trash you dig with you.

Thanks,

Get a pouch you wear on your belt to hold pointer, small shovel or knife, coins and trash. It makes it real easy and you don't have to try and put stuff in your pocket ! I have been using Garrett equipment since the 70's and they are the best, great customer support. Welcome to the fun !!
