New Whites, MatrixM6

Has anyone seen or heard any thing about this "New" detector? Whites web site does'nt show it and they are still selling the Pro Line detectors. Some say it's a new version of the MXT?? I sent for a new Whites catalog to see what has changed but I have'nt received it yet.

If you check out the White's Main Detecting Forum here you can get some talk about it.

I imagine White's will probably update their website over the weekend. Maybe then there will be an official unveiling and we can glean some more information about it.

I'm a bit dissapointed by what I have read so far but that is just my opinion and it don't mean squat in the grand scheme of things.

It does have a  name though.

... Stripped down version of the MXT with some enhancements / changes.

As far as modes, just offers coin / jewelry, (no relic or prospecting modes) still gives all the VDI numbers but this machine can offer a 7 tone target ID as well. Full range discrimination, full range sensitivity, new style Eclipse coil that also works with the MXT and DFX.

Has auto ground tracking, track lock and has a Beach (black sand) setting for mineralized ground. MSRP is $699.

M6 units are on their way to distributors now. Should be in stores next week. This is a unit we did not see when I was in Sweet Home. Hang on to your hats ... more good stuff is coming out soon.

.... I've not tried it yet, but my buddy who regularly tests and either approves, suggests changes or rains on White's parade, really likes this unit. Goes deep, handles mineralized ground well. This weekend he hopes to take it to Virginia to see how it works there.
