New VX3, coil for unlittered fields?

It's been a few years since I've swung a detector and I decided to get back into it with a VX3. I'm thinking this White's will be both flexible and relatively easy to use. Here in Oklahoma I'd like to work both the usual places for coins plus the fields near the house. I'm wondering which; the 13" "Ultimate" or the Super 12" (if compatible with VX3) would be best for finding deep coins, lead and all in normal and unlittered fields. Any thoughts?

The U13 is feels like a better balanced 950, the super 12 feels like a cinder block! I have never ready any posts on any forums where people have said "Man the Super 12 is great" Things that stick in the mind are "Unimpressed", and "Heavy"
I got one with a machine trade, it is shot so can not personally comment on performance but it does feel like a cinder block on the end of you machine. The U13 I like swinging, as I said feels no heavier than the 950 and is better balanced with the pivot in the center of the coil.
One thing I think may be an issue if your fields have stubble is the open design of the coil getting hooked on things.. the Super 12 would have the same issue..

It seems like I'll be looking for a 13" Ultimate this fall, I certainly don't want to move more weight than necessary. At my age a coil that gives better balance will be better appreciated. Thank you!

Some prefer the 10X12 SEF I have the 10X12 myself but have never tried the 13. I can recommend the 10X12 and the coverage is about the same for fields since the 10X12 is 12" long and 10" wide.

If it's in the deal I'd choose the 13 inch DD coil. If not the stock 9.5 inch will serve you very well.

If you are still trying to decide, I have the vx3 with the 13" coil and I use it almost exclusively now

I hate to say it but as long as you are buying the VX3, I think you are making an excellent choice. I have a V3i myself and the learning curve is very steep.

Guys don't forget about the D2 coil..I dug a silver dime at close to 8+ not bad. Remember the bigger coil means more targets under it sometimes hard to separate all the target's...Please.dont get me wrong every coil has its place.
Just my opinion,, I have a D2 coil and it's awesome....

Problem with the D2 is it can be used as a boar anchor.. The 13 is the way to go now.. I actually traded a dealer my D2 and an XLT with no coil for a New U13 and 6x10, best deal I ever made!
