New vs. old CZ-5

I have a CZ-5 w/metal cuff and see posts all thru here how this machine is supposed to be less sensitive than the "newer" style CZ. I'm constantly finding stuff my other detectors won't touch with my supposedly less sensitive CZ w/metal cuff. I didn't find this out until I posted mine for sale and for the life of me I can't imagine the newer style going that much deeper than mine-if so it must be super deep. Can someone clarify this and how much more depth is it supposed to have? These posts have left the impression that my CZ is not any deeper than a regular detector. Thanks:nerd:

Having used every model CZ ever made still feel coil for coil probably as deep or deeper than any on the market..You will find some CZ's are just a tad deeper than others due to the tuning and of course proper ground balancing and soil conditions and setting by the individual all come into play..But all in all whether old or newer manufactured CZ don't expect any difference or buy a new one for that reason as in actuality for reasons stated above your old CZ5 may be a tad deeper or vice versa. In other words a CZ is a CZ....

Seemed to me newer models handled iron better and I do prefer the plastic armcup with a velcro strap and judging from the CZ3D and CZ70 it seems sens. parameters have been changed and 4 seems to be the magic number for superior depth and stability while older CZ's could run a higher sens with no apparent difference in depth..So indeed feel the innards may be a tad different but depth between old and new either way is negligable at best..

Thanks, guys. That post about sensitivity setting may just be true. At 4 sens. I start picking up the little iron ping sounds and start picking a quarter at over a foot in the air. At 6, it's best to be outside, because just moving it causes pings inside a house and the quarter can be well over a foot, albeit faint. Of course, in the field is where it counts and my other detectors can't compete as far as depth. And the 10" coil is awesome. I got a high tone signal-not faint, either- in a school playground and gave up after a foot because I forgot my shovel.

I have a CZ6a, which will never be sold. It's deep and simple.. I can hunt in the rain, on the beach...anywhere except deep or under water.

And with the 5 inch coil, it's one of the best ever coin hunters I have ( and I have an XL-Pro, DFX, Excal, Gold Scanner Pro).
