New Video: Mono Coiled Minelab GPX 5000 vs Garrett ATX's DD on 4 Gold Nuggets

The goal here again is to get all 4 nuggets as best as possible and which detector you might walk over gold with...see the results:

After seeing this video you'd be nuts to buy the Minelab. Three reasons: 1.ATX got all nuggets! With the Minelab, you would have left gold in the ground! 2. ATX huge difference in price 3. ATX can go under water and in rain!

Thanks Bearkat

""And the winner is.................. the AT Gold.""---That is funny man, it was only in the video for 34 seconds and I have had more comments about the AT Gold, even on Youtube...that's too funny...:clapping:  Love it!

Bearkat

Love watching your vids, Bearkat and thanks. I have an ATX on order and I also have the AT Gold. I am fairly new to MD but I am sure in your video the AT Gold hit every target better than both the high end machines. Crap! Have I just spent out on a machine that's no better than the machine I already have? Please put my mind at rest and tell me the ATX is a better machine than the AT Gold ;)
Keep the videos coming they are very helpful for us newbies

Bearkat, that AT Gold was able to hear all four nuggets too! And at about half the weight and less than 1/2 the cost of the ATX.
Obviously, it may be more challenged in ground with higher mineralization, but for many areas it would do a great job while providing better discrimination and/or target identification.

I am now hoping you included it in the big nugget depth test, although it may be too late.

Big nugget test already done...will be live on Youtube in a few days.

Don't worry Joemac...in ground that is horribly infested with iron rocks and iron in general, you'll be glad you got the ATX. The ground in the video is just very consistent and not a lot of iron pockets/rocks. I have areas out here where the AT Gold goes just nuts but the ATX purrs like a kitten...I'll get some of that on video one day.

Thanks Bearkat. I knew I had made a good decision. I will be using the ATX on the beach but also in the Australian gold fields too, looks like a good all rounder. AT gold is no good for beach detecting. So glad I have stumbled across your videos. I was saving quite hard to get the GPX 5000 but could afford the ATX straight away so I ordered it. My ATX arrives on the 17 December (hopefully) and I already feel I know this machine quite well through your videos. The wait for the ATX is killing me. So keen to get out there and swing. Thanks again

Thanks bearkat,

Appreciate you taking the time to put these videos together, I know it's time consuming for you maybe even a small expense.

Also, For those that think the AT-Gold was the winner it's obvious that dirt was not hot enough for the AT-Gold to struggle. I live in central California and to give you an idea how hot some Black sand areas can be in fresh water rivers & lakes the AT-Gold has a hard time punching down a few inches in all-metal mode and even more terrible in disc mode, Don't get me wrong the AT-Gold is a great machine and it's one of my key machines but with black sand masking it struggles. A good Pi will punch deep in this nasty black sand, ATX should have no problem getting Gold Jewelry in this harsh black sand.

Thanks again,
Paul (Ca)

IMHO, the AT Gold was the "winner" figuratively, not literally.
And likewise, I believe the ATX is the "winner" over the GPX, figuratively, not literally.

The GPX can go a little deeper than the ATX.
The ATX can go a little deeper than the AT Gold. (and handle mineralization better, etc.)

My opinions are only opinions, and weight and cost and ease-of-use play a big role in which one is the "winner" in my own feeble mind.

You have done one heck of a great job making these ATX videos BK and I really appreciate the hard work you have done here. Watching your videos has been instrumental with me in my decision to buy one and I want to thank you for that BK. I hope you continue to make more ATX videos, as they really show how it performs out in the field.

After watching you Mess around with all those Knobs, Switches and Dials on that 5000, you gave me a Headache, so I'm going to go and take a couple of aspirins and my Geritol and get a bit of rest :))).

:)

Lol, yea gave me a headache too NightCrawler...

From what I hear they will go out "not too much longer"...hopefully before Christmas. That coming up very soon...

Thanks for the info BK !

And thanks for continuing to post all the great comparison vids about the ATX and GTX ... In the face of all the so called irritated non-Minelab homies...LOL
I read all of that big thread about it and Reg was really trying to stay focused through all of the deflection BS... I am surprised that
some people don't seem to realize that others are watching and see a lot for themselves without having to protect egos and reputations....

Please keep up the good work !!!

Cheers,

Tye

Ps if you know anyone interested in a 7 month old GPX 5000 in great near new condition??? point them my way...
I am going to buy an ATX deep seeker package .... I've seen and heard enough to make my decision...
I do NOT need the GPX after all even though it has found gold for me....

Cheers,

Tye

Hey Tye,

Yea, Reg was making some great points...and Steve was also...But the deflection stuff was a bit much as you say.
I might sell my GPX 5000 too, not sure quite yet though...:surprised: I have another guy that lives in Cali wants me to sell his GPX 4000 for him so he can get an ATX. Crazy eh?

Yes, people are watching...

BK

Impressive video. Really appreciate you effort. I am in Nevada and I would have to say my next detector will be the ATX. The AT Gold was impressive I liked the nice crisp signals all diggers in my book.
