New member
Snows gone, & it's time to scout deep into the forest looking for new 1700's sites to dig in 2008.......
Saving History New England is back....
& if our first hike is any indication on what kind of season we are gonna have.....well, stay tuned! :)
I think you'll all really enjoy seeing what we hiked right into on a hillside....we can't wait to get back there for some more serious detecting.
enjoy,
Bill

Hope you 2 get on some more nice finds as I'm sure you will on a virgin site like that one.
Looks like some CW period goodies in the mix too
Keep us posted on what that token came out to be will you ?

Good hunting
Mike

Great job guys. Being a native Californian, one of the things I enjoy most is to listen to you talk and you both present yourself very well. Keep them coming.

Hey Bill nice to hunt with you via your video. Yeah finding history is a blast even no it is hard work but it is a love for the history that has been left behind tht keeps me going. One mans trash is anothers treasure.

Make sure you seek me out at DIV........I don't believe we have ever met in person, & I'm glad to see you finally got involved with the best relic hunts of all time by far......
Bill

Like how I say "Car" & "Barn" in this movie........

Though this is alotta extra work, I think this is far better than the former "picture" posts I was famous for on Findmall. This allows you to walk with us right through the pines & even hear the excitement in out voices. Its a great felling to discover an untouched site from the 1700's.........
Thanks again,
Bill

I've been relic hunting for many, many years and you are 100% correct in that statement, never met a finer bunch of folks than those that attend the DIV hunts

I know that YOU know the OTHER group of folks I hunted with prior to my first DIV last year.

In all fairness though, I met and hunted with some good people over there too but couldn't take the BS any longer associated with their little leader.
It's really a crying shame that politics, his greed and the constant LOOK at ME and my hand picked minions ruined it for many that just wanted to hunt relics, plain and simple.

Anyway, I did find myself a NEW home with the DIV folks and couldn't be happier.
I'll make a point of looking you up at the meeting or prior to the hunt and hopefully you'll bring some eye candy for me to gaze at :heh:
Keep them post coming, really enjoy it.

Mike

wish i was there with you!!!!!!!

Bill,

The token turned out to be a George B. McClellan political advertisement from the 1864 presidential election. I will try to get a scan or pic soon and post it.

Here's a link with pics and info on the token - http://www.politicalheritage.com/ikorb.php?func=catalog&category_id=7&product_id=8133

I can't wait to get back out there! This time we will have a full can of bug spray!!

HH,

Gatehider

Wasn't he like a Civil War general or something? If you have not done so please post that link onto the other forums the movie is playing so they can see too........
later,
Bill

Great camera's......SC digger & Horsesoldier use same kind. Easy uploads to the computer and no tapes!
HH,
Bill

& this is a given with DIV. You won't end up making last second travel arrangements to go to some empty bean fields in MISS, or even some beat Victorian cellar holes in CT. I have hundreds of better cellar holes around here (like in the video).....anyone can come & hunt them for free. That's far different than DIV getting us dead in the middle of The Battle of Brandy Station or even Hansboro Ridge. Real prime leasing of sites, & real interest in seeing folks all go home happy.
No BS., free breakfast, lunch, water, & a killer BBQ to end the hunt..........it's no contest really :)
later,
Bill
