New Vaquero for Christmas

BillZ

New member
The wife got me a Vaquero for Christmas.:super:

I decided to get rid of the XLT and go back to using Tesoro full time.
Now I just need to practice ground balancing it until hunting time is available this weekend. My other Tesoros don't have manual ground balance.

Any tips with the Vaq are appreciated. I am familiar with Tesoros and MDing but any comments from owners can certainly be helpful.

You got a very nice and capable detector there Bud!!
You will fall in love with the light weight and don't worry
about the ground balancing.. it is very easy and just takes seconds
to adjust.
What I usually do with mine when ground balancing is to leave the disc. knob where
I usually have it set and just push the pinpoint button down to switch the detector to all metal
and then ground balance it.
This is handy when you are detecting and want to recheck the ground balance on the detector
without having to adjust the disc. knob again.
Later on you might want to invest in the 5.75" concentric coil... very good coil for old home sites and
such that are trashy and iron laden.
Hope this helps,
Felix
