New V3i Owner

colt

New member
Wow, what a fathers day present, a local pawn shop listed a like new V3i for sale, called and the guy said it looks like it is brand new, but it does not seem to be working right. I went to look at it and noticed it had a 10" DD coil on it, when the guy turned it on, it went into overload on any program with the RX over 4. When you lower the RX to 4 or less it would smooth out, I bought it at a really good price and thought I would send it in to White's and have them check it out.

When I got home I noticed there was new little shooter coil in the side of the carry bag. I connected the little shooter to the control box and fired the V3i up, it ran smooth as silk in all of the programs, so it looks like the 10" DD coil must be the problem, the last DFX that I had, had a bad 10" DD coil.

The only other problem that I have, is the V3i is registered to the guy that pawned it and the registration is password protected, I have a sales receipt from the pawn shop that shows I am the legal owner of the detector, anybody know how I can I get the detector registered in my name, could Whites help me with this issue. I am not that crazy about the 10" DD and prefer the 5x10 or the 5.3.

Man this is one sweet machine, I have owned 5 XLT's and 3 DFX's and enjoyed everyone of them, but this V3i is really well thought out and my hat is off to White's they done a fantastic job on this bad boy. This forum is great, I have already shortened the learning curve, just by reading the post in this forum.

Call Whites,

If you lose your password, you can call White's and supply your serial number listed on the screen and they will give the password to you. The password is unchangeable. The serial number on the box is what you use to register your machine for the warranty.

The 10 D2 is mt favorite Whites coil.

I will call Whites on Monday, they have given me excellent customer service in the past. I want to like the 10 D2 coil, but this is the 2nd one that looked like it was new and had a problem. I have been playing with the little shooter coil and have been very impressed. One of my favorite coils is the 6x10 and the 5.3.
