Hello, I just bought a Minelab XS...i've had other machines, Garrett GTA 1000,etc...I hear the minelab is the best machine made for coin hunting which is what i do...my question is: i can't figure the damn thing out..is there someone in Maryland I can hire to program the machine to work best for what i do????

The GTA 1000 was a good machine and it told you when to dig with the belltones but the XS gives you all the info and lets you decide so you will not miss the good ones other do.
One thing i would do is stay in the quick start mode untill you understand the detector more, but bump up the sensitivy a little bit and do a little air testing to see where the coins sound like and where the crosshairs read. Once this is done use it for a while and try to tell what the target is before you dig and see if you are right.
I have 2 guy that have their XS since last year and they are still in the quick start mode with the smart screen and have turned up the sensitivity a little and they both do well with theirs.
Just remember it takes time to understand what it is telling you, but once you do it will be easy after that.
