Hi I'm wanting to buy 2 detectors one for me and my wife we live in Northern Calif. would like to find an all around detector would be doing more parks swim areas on the river but also check out some creeks in the hills around here for gold as Calif gold country is all around us I was looking at the Ace 350 but was told its not good for Calif but the AT Pro is any thoughts on what would be good for us in the $500.00 - $600.00 range.

You described the ATpro. But buying two for $600 will be hard. You may want to buy an ATpro and Ace 250?

Oh srroy didn't mean $600 for both I didn't want to spend more then $600 each didn't know if there was anything better then the AT-pro for the money

I'm a long time Garrett user, but new to the AT-Pro. I am loving mine so far! It's very hot on nickels so I think it will do well on gold jewelry. Whether or not it would be decent for native gold, I don't know. Well worth the price in my opinion.

Welcome to the forum.

You mentioned water hunting so the ATpro gets the nod. You could make a great deal for two machines.

The AT Pro is a great nugget shooter. Just check out Chris Gholson's field test report at losttreasure.com
Happy Hunting!:)
