Hi all,
Total newbie here from Ohio. My husband enjoyed a little detecting as a youngster, and decided this would be a cool hobby for us. We got entry level (Bounty Hunter 1100) detectors to start with, and detected our yard a bit today. Found junk of course, some "clad"(if that's the correct term) -- 1981 quarter, a metal 3" bow tie looking thing of unknown metal, and what I'm pretty sure is an old horse shoe nail. (I've handled my share of those). Very interesting and fun! We attended an event in nearby Waynesville, Ohio and visited the Ohio Detectorist Assocation's meeting with guest speaker, really nice people and very helpful, so we're thinking of becoming members there.
Looking forward to the forum!
