New Tools for my Tesoro's

Rainyday101

New member
Just ordered a new Garrett pro pointer for my Silver uMax and a T-Rex sand scoop for my Tiger Shark. Now all I need is another Tesoro, but I can't make my mind up!

The Tesoro Silver

What are you planning on doing with your new Tesoro? Then we could give suggestions.

The Garrett Propointer is my one "must have" accessory. One day with it and I realized how much I needed it in the past. What a great tool!

I would like to get it for just cherry picking silver in the mild soil I have here. Yep, I know it won't find rings set like that, but I just want to use it as a silver vacuum. The Deleon has me interested, but I wonder if it gets good enough depth. In the sandy areas around here the silver can easily be 8-12 inches deep. About 10 years ago I had a Garrett GTAX 450 that was excellent at cherry picking and accurate at ID'ing coins. It could also disc out bottle caps no problem. Once I discriminated out bottle caps I never dug another one and I found tons of coins and silver. My Tiger Shark in All Metal mode is crazy deep on land, but you cannot disc out junk in that mode. My Silver uMax is excellent, but I would like a little more depth. If I get another my wife and kids would use the Sivler if they went with me. If I have to I will buy a Compadre for them also. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on my new detector for cherry picking silver, but I want a capable machine. Right now all I own is Tesoro and will keep it that way if possible, but I have been eyeballing some used GTAX 550's on ebay.

I just bought a Garrett propointer and used it on two trips. It makes finding so much easier. Instead of searching for 3 minutes per hole it is now less than 1 minute. It was money well spent. Maybe you need another propointer for your wife and kids. I have a Compadre and a Tiger Shark. I like the Compadre more each time I take it out. It just finds metal and discriminates well with no complicated adjustments. Of course in the water you need a waterproof detector.

I vote is the " V " ........ But , for silver I haven't found anything better than a Etrac and I'm a huge Tesoro fan , but sometimes you just have to go with what works !!

I have heard good things about the Tiger from a Diver its a great machine

Yep Gunnar the Tiger is awsome and deep as hell in all metal mode. I went on a beach off of the bay of Green Bay today for 3 hours and only found a penny! I have found some clad and a cheap ring on previous hunts but nothing to write home about. My gold mine will be rivers, but they are too high and the current is dangerously fast right now. Just need them to settle down a bit before I can hit them. I haven't hunted a lot with lately because my homemade scoop just sucks. My new T-rex should be here this week. The Garret Pro Pointer is absolutely awsome and has made my hunts with the silver umax quicker and much more enjoyable.
