New to using cz3d

I bought a new cz3d, and trying to learn the sounds. Gettin pretty good at knowing what's iron. I've only been digging when I get a good solid mid tone, and high tone in both directions. But man.. I'm amazed at how much iron/ trash is in the ground. I was using in 0 disc, but switched to 1 disc cause I got tired of listening to all the iron. I need to find some good places to go that's not so trashy. Is there anyone around the Tacoma wa area that would like to get together sometime?

hi czhunter,
welcome to the forum, have you air tested your CZ-3D with a clad dime yet ? Curious to see how many inches it will register at. It seems that the new CZ's aren't all calibrated the same.

Ahh, you should be good then, as I just found a 1976 quarter at 6 1/2 inches today. Could have picked it up deeper no problem, because the high tone was loud and clear. I'm just learning this machine, and I'm starting to really like it. Once you figure out the whole iron thing with this detector, it's great! But it does take a little learning.... Not to bad. Hope you like your cz. Good luck to you tiggar!

Some place in the manual it says the CZ-3D is not a good machine to air test, it was designed to work best in the ground and I am thinking it said the CZ-3D may not pass a air test. I am sure you could work on those tones, but I wouldn't worry a lot about the depth.
