Hi all I am new to this site and to this forum, but I guess I will fit right in, I just got me an ACE 250, it has the stock coil and also the sniper coil with extra shaft.
I plan on taking it to some local camp grounds and giving it a work out in the morning.
Let everyone know how it goes. If anyone has any tips I would love to hear them.
Thanks
Rick in Kingman AZ

You are going to have a lot of fun with that machine. Most of the time, if you try to detect with full sensitivity, the unit will be unstable. Back off a few bars.

Welcome Rick, I am sure these fellows will make you feel right at home. They did for me even before I was a Garrett owner. Jonathan

Welcome Rick! You will have a lot of company here with that 250! Find anything good yet? Keep diggin' Kevin in Ipswich, Mass.

Howdy Rick... Be careful riding on the freeway. You will find that there are still good areas to coinshoot while nuggethunting... The
250 is easy to use and a good choice. I regularily use a VLF-type coinhunter to check around old mining areas... Best yet was an old camp dating back to about 1900. I had permission and entered a locked
gate... Not many finds, but the quality made up for the lack of
quantity... I actually beeped a 1904 dime... It was shallow and looked
like it was dropped when new. All together about a dozen old coins. But no key dates. However, in some camps the coins were from the Carson City mint...

I know where there was a couple of old mining camps that I will detect around, I tried using my minelab 17000 but way too much trash.
I am taking my wife out to a campground and we are gonna shoot for coins, kinda get her hooked again...
will post pics if we make any finds.
