Hiya folks. Looks like a great forum.

I'm new to the forum and have been into detecting since 1995 or so, but got distracted with other things a few years ago and have been out of it for a while. Getting back to it.

I'm in the Houston, TX area, swing a Tesoro Eldorado for the time (had an X5 and a Sandshark but had to sell 'em, too bad...)

I enjoy just about any kind of detetcing but find myself looking for coins mostly.

I also collect Roman coins and clean and conserve them as a hobby, so naturally metal detecting goes hand in hand. Too bad I can't afford a Balkans or European metal detetcing trip!

Best regards,

You are going to like the folks who frequent this place. I have gotten a lot of good advice here over the past two years or so. I presently use three minelabs, Xterra 70, Explorer II, and recently added the Excalibur 1000. I also just purchased a Florida straight shaft after hearing what people here said about its ability to balance out the load better. I enjoy reading advice and seeing all the goodies people keep digging gives me incentive to get out and find my own.
