I purchased a Bounty Hunter Land Star to help me with my job in the parks department. I figured finding the pins for soccer fields would be easy with this. I don't know how it will work yet due to the fact I have been hooked on searching and digging. I haven't gotten rich but today was really the first time to hunt and pocket is 65 cent heaveier. I think this will pay off in the long run due to being around 21 parks. I would welcome any advice or comments. Thanks for letting me come to this site and read all the great stuff.

hello oddjobbob, and welcome to a great hobby and website! it will do you well to read all the posts on this site that you can stand. good job on the 65 cents, its a start. any questions, all ya gotta do is ask! hh,

Welcome oddjobbob, you'll do well in the parks. There are so many gold jewelery items found in them it boggles the mind, silver too and lots of coins. Live your dreams! HH regards Nugget.:detecting:

Hi oddjobbob. Welcome to this great hobby, the one that pays
for itself. The Land Star is a great choice for all types of
hunting (except underwater). By the way, remember that your
best bet for the soccer pins is the all metal mode. Use the
notch or disc modes for coins and rings. Of course, all metal
can also be used to find the good targets but won't disc out
the trash items. Good Luck!

Welcome oddjobbob:

As stated earlier, there are a lot of posts on here made by myself and other great hunters who have imparted a wealth of knowledge to the public....Read as much as you can stand...I also own a Land Star as you might have guessed..Any questions you might have, feel free to ask...As far as the manual goes...

1) Set the SENS only as high as you can without the detector going goofy (chattering with no movement, or false signals on every sweep)

2) keep a constant 1" height above and level to the ground

3) keep a constant 2ft/sec sweep speed

4) keep DISC/NOTCH knob fully CCW to start and hunt in ALL-Metal motion, or DISC modes

5) buy the additional coils 4" (for tight or trashy spots), and the 10" (for wide open and clean areas)

6) keep it shwinging...:detecting:
